Igniting Connections Early Childhood Symposium
On Saturday, October 5, with presenting sponsorship from Carilion Clinic, the Alliance for Better Childcare Strategies (ABCs) is bringing together 200 teachers and family health support practicioners throughout the New River Valley – from pre-kindergartens, childcare centers, Head Start classes and family home providers – to learn and share best practices in early education and supporting the whole child. In addition to offering professional development, the symposium will provide an opportunity to build connections and communication between early childhood professionals.

Dr. Jayne Singer, Developmental, Relational, and Trauma-Informed Frameworks for Understanding Children and Engaging Families: The Brazelton Touchpoints Approach Dr. Singer is Director and Lead Faculty for the Early Care and Education Initiative at the Brazelton Touchpoints Center, Boston Children’s Hospital as well as serving as Faculty for Harvard University Medical School. Dr. Singer has extensive experience in the field children’s mental health, special needs and trauma-informed intervention.
